Guys!
I have listened, from Grants Pass OREGON and had to stop! PLEASE! This is not about Aaron Rodgers! Yes, he holds on too long on SOME passes but PLEASE this is his SECOND year as a starter! He is a GREAT QB! Give him an offensive line – PLEASE! HIS QB RATING is in the top echelon in spite of a terrible OL! Give the guy a break!
I don’t know if Rodgers is “great” but he is certainly good enough to win with — highly competent at the minimum. I don’t doubt that he has held the ball too long on occasion, but Dave thinks this is a bigger problem than I do. The real issue, to me, is a porous line coupled with receivers who don’t seem to be creating enough separation mixed together with a QB who is not inclined to go gunslinger like the predecessor. Of those, I think the latter is the least of the issues.
Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment.
I’d have to say that Rodgers is stuck in a no win situation. The victory over the Cowboys shows just how bad the offensive line has become.
Watch the offensive linemen on the screen passes. The running back is surrounded by Dallas denfensive players and the lineman are literally standing with a deer in headlights look. They aren’t leading the way or even blocking.
Often Rodgers will get the ball look up and there will be 1-2 denfensive linemen in his face. One second wouldn’t be fast enough in these cases.
Without a reliable running or screen game he’s left with only one choice and that is to try to hit a wide receiver in the middle or down the field. Wide receiver routes take time and he tries to buy that time by scrambling or moving in the pocket.
Rodgers got just enough points against the Cowboys by standing in the pocket. So his choices are take the hits and sometimes win or throw it away and certainly lose. Neither choice is good, but winning is always better.
If anything the line is getting worse with every game. Thank the denfense for this victory because the line certainly doesn’t deserve any credit.

Well said. I could not agree more.
