  1. I am now not so worried about the Pack’s special teams…. I give them a solid B, last week against the Bears, who still suck… coverage was good, including kick offs. Punts were good. Just one missed field goal and I think Mason will figure it out. I think the pack sould give him more kicks from the left hash mark. Great job guys… i enjoy your pod cast, thanks ryan,

  2. Great show gentlemen. Just a few talking points if you don’t mind… I don’t understand you’re confusion and angst about the Chillar signing. He would have been an unrestricted free agent. Collins, the way it looks, will be restricted and the Packers will have plenty of time to get his deal done and will have far more leverage. Nick will get his deal. On top of that, Brandon’s was an easy and quick deal to get crossed off the lengthy laundry list of free agents Thompson will have this offseason. It seems in the past you’ve (Dave) been judgemental on Thompson being stingy about spending money and counting on the draft, and yet, this signing of a core player has you frustrated? Also, you said Thompson “got rid of” Tauscher and kept Bush… far from it. Tauscher was coming off of knee surgery and couldn’t even play until October. His deal ran out and no one signed him. Thompson played his cards perfectly and got him back when needed for cheap. You guys have an excellent show, and I have far more good things to say than complaints trust me. Thanks

  3. I won’t pretend to speak for Dave, but my “angst” about signing Chillar is that I don’t think the guy is a core player nor do I think he is all that good. I realize Collins is probably going to be restricted should this be an uncapped year, but I would rather see them use the money they gave out on Chillar to Collins, a player I have come to see as a realy core player, a guy necessary for the future of the team.

  4. i just wrote a 500 word comment that was deleted for some reason. anyways, i’ll rewrite it.

Hey guys great show, ive been missing my packer fix because in Aus its summer and everyone is at the coast because temperatures are scorching.

once again thompson decides to make the stupidist decision possible. why resign chillar? The upcoming uncapped year will be the perfect opportunity to get a linebacker that will be “taking advantage” of it. There will be no shortage of decent to good linebackers being released and this will cause the supply to be higher than the demand for once. I agree completely with you chris in regards to collins needing to be resigned, otherwise thompson has just wasted all that time on him for nothing. i was wondering what you guys think about thompson atm the moment, in regards to his job? do you think he still deserves to have it? deserve being the opporitive word. also do you think that this would be a decent draft for next year (put in order of importance for the team) :
    Offensive tackle x2
    corner x 2
    defensive line x 1
    safety x 1
linbacker or halfback x 1 (due to chillar resiging)

It seems that implementing a good change of pace back with grant might be what the team needs to help with its red zone problems. It would allow grant to run with more purpose in a more limited number of carries, getting the best out of him. The great teams as of late appear to be getting done on the ground with multiple personnel, not just relying on one stud in the backfield.

Anyways sorry for the length of my emails, but there is no one to talk football with in Aus. Looking forward to what you think if you get around to it. Thanks as always for the podcasts, they usually make my day.

    Your buddy in Australia, Jack.

P.s. Im very concerned for the upcoming game for two reasons : 1. They should win, meaning that as usual they will probably lose and 2. packers are worst in the nfl for sacks allowed, steelers have the best pass rush in football, meaning if it comes down to it late in the game and the pack are down, rodgers is going to be on a 5 step drop, thats a miss match that isnt our favour. anyway i just think it will be close. thanks again guys.
