Post combine draft
Round 1 Pick 1 (1) Browns:  Barkley, Saquon (RB) Penn State
Round 1 Pick 2 (2) Giants:  Mayfield, Baker (QB) Oklahoma
Round 1 Pick 3 (3) Colts:  Williams, Connor (OT) Texas
Round 1 Pick 4 (4) Browns:  Chubb, Bradley (DE) North Carolina State
Round 1 Pick 5 (5) Broncos:  Darnold, Sam (QB) Southern California
Round 1 Pick 6 (6) Jets:  Edmunds, Tremaine (OLB) Virginia Tech
Round 1 Pick 7 (7) Buccaneers:  Davenport, Marcus (DE/OLB) Texas-San Antonio
Round 1 Pick 8 (8) Bears:  Ridley, Calvin (WR) Alabama
Round 1 Pick 9 (9) 49ers:  Smith, Roquan (ILB/OLB) Georgia
Round 1 Pick 10 (10) Raiders:  Ward, Denzel (CB) Ohio State
Round 1 Pick 11 (11) Dolphins:  Landry, Harold (OLB/DE) Boston College
Round 1 Pick 12 (12) (CINN) Cardinals:  Rosen, Josh (QB) UCLA
Round 1 Pick 13 (13) Redskins:  Vea, Vita (DT) Washington

Minka Fitzpatrick falls to 14 and Tenn offers 1-25, 2-25 and 3-25 for our
1-14.   I pull the trigger hoping to fix the defense.

The trade nets Vander Esch, Davis and Kyzir.
I look for a similar trade when GB is on the clock.

Round 1 Pick 25 (TENN):  Vander Esch, Leighton, OLB/ILB, Boise State (A)
Size speed, whats not to like here.

Round 2 Pick 13:  Jackson, Josh, CB, Iowa (A)
His slow posted 40 has him drop to round 2.

Round 2 Pick 25 (TENN):  Davis, Carlton, CB, Auburn (A-)
The need to rebuild the secondary make him too good to pass up.

Round 3 Pick 12:  Hurst, Hayden, TE, South Carolina (A+)
Godert and Geseki were gone, so if I want to really help the position
now is the time.

Round 3 Pick 25 (TENN):  White, Kyzir, SS, West Virginia (B)
Step 3 to rebuilding the secondary.

Round 4 Pick 1:  Jones, Jamarco, OT, Ohio State (A)
Feel he’s a good fit. The swingman we need right away. Dropped some lately.

Round 4 Pick 33:  Gallup, Michael, WR, Colorado State (A+)
Plays faster than advertised. Good start for the future at WR.

Round 5 Pick 1:  Armstrong Jr, Dorance, DE/OLB, Kansas (B)
6’4”  246lb with good shuttle times,  will have to learn 3-4 as he played end in 4-3. Can rush the passer.

Round 5 Pick 35:  Coutee, Keke, WR, Texas Tech (B+)
John Brown type player with deep speed. Should open the field for the other WRs.

Round 5 Pick 37:  Jones, Justin, DT, North Carolina State (A)
Not really a value pick here but nessary depth at DE.

Round 6 Pick 12:  Hill, Holton, CB, Texas (A+)
With Jackson and Davis the risk of this pick bombing is worth the risk.

Round 6 Pick 33:  Watts, Armani, FS, Texas AM (A+)
Really doubt he’s still on the board but a real value here. This draft should have 4 or 5  secondary players that make the team.

Round 7 Pick 14:  ODaniel, Dorian, OLB, Clemson (A+)
A nod towards special team here as much as anything else.

Round 7 Pick 21:  Weathersby, Toby, OT, LSU (A+)
Nothing special but offers OL depth.

I like it.  Think that's a good mix of talent and potential, and fits the needs of the Pack.  As much as I'd like Minka to drop to us at 14, I think that's a good deal if offered there with the opportunity to pick up 2-3 starters for 1 pick.

My only swap would be to pick NC State B.J. Hill instead of Jones in the 5th if he was there.  Just really like what I've read about him, his athletic ability, and the potential to play DE and DT in a 3-4.
