Don't quite see how this works? The folks around Lambeau are just renting a space, they are not selling booze to anyone. Isn't that what you need a liquor license for?

Very confusing!

A turf scrap between the Tavern Owners (lobby group) and the Winerys Owners (lobby group), and the end result is to destroy the hallowed tradition of tailgating at Lambeau. Politics sucks...........big time.

I hope the tavern & winery owners have good insurance because I can see pitchforks and torches headed their way.

It also may be that the Packers want all tailgating in the new Titletown district.

It also may be that the Packers want all tailgating in the new Titletown district.

They would love that (actually replace "tailgating" with purchasing food/beverages from those vendors), but it sounds like it's the Tavern League lobby wanting to reduce competition for late evening parties from Wineries (which are required to close at 9pm currently) by forcing those location to also purchase a liquor license.  The "tailgate ban" is sensationalizing the legislation, since it is just an unintended consequence and would likely be exempted in any final legislation.  But if they left the bill as-is, this would essentially give establishments like Stadium View, The Bar, Anduzzi's, etc a monopoly on parking spots where you could have an open container.  So they may lobby against a tailgate exemption for that reason.

Brietbart, the nemesis of responsible reporting.

Have you ever looked at Brietbart? Or are you just a media racist?

They reported a simple fact: the Wisconsin legislature is considering a bill that would impact tailgating. And they are.
