RD 1 Mock Draft - De Queso...
« on: March 22, 2018, 02:43:52 PM »
I've included some trades (primarily for QB's) and the Packers jumping up to #11 to grab James (could switch out for Landry if SF took James). Of course, I don't know how realistic this is, but hey, I tried...

1.) CLE - Sam Darnold - QB - USC

2.) BUF (f/NYG) - Josh Allen - QB - Wyoming

3.) NYJ (f/IND) - Josh Rosen - QB - UCLA

4.) CLE (f/HOU) - Saquon Barkley - RB - Penn St.

5.) ARZ (f/DEN) - Baker Mayfield - QB - Oklahoma

6.) IND (f/NYJ) - Bradley Chubb - DE - NC State

7.) TB - Minkah Fitzpatrick - DB - Alabama

8.) CHI - Quenton Nelson - G - Notre Dame

9.) SF - Harold Landry - DE - Boston College

10.) OAK - Tremaine Edmunds - LB - Virginia Tech

11.) GB (f/MIA) - Derwin James - S - Florida St.

12.) LAC (f/NYG) - Lamar Jackson - QB - Louisville

13.) WAS - Vita Vea - DT - Washington

14.) MIA (f/GB)  - Denzel Ward - CB - Ohio St.

15.) DEN (f/ARZ) - Josh Jackson - CB - Iowa

16.) BAL - Roquan Smith - LB - Georgia

17.) NYG (f/LAC) - Mike McGlinchey - OT - Notre Dame

18.) SEA - Calvin Ridley - WR - Alabama

19.) DAL - Will Hernandez - G - UTEP

20.) DET - Marcus Davenport - DE - UTSA

21.) CIN (f/BUF) - James Daniels - C - Iowa

22.) NYG (f/BUF) - Billy Price - C - Ohio St.

23.) LAR - Rashaan Evans - LB - Alabama

24.) CAR - Isaiah Oliver - CB - Colorado

25.) TEN - Da'Ron Payne - DT - Alabama

26.) ATL - Mike Gesicki - TE - Penn St.

27.) NO - Courtland Sutton - WR - SMU

28.) PITT - Derrius Guice - RB - LSU

29.) JAX - Connor Williams - OT - Texas

30.) MIN - Isaiah Wynn - OL - Georgia

31.) NE - Justin Reid - S - Stanford

32.) PHI - Christian Kirk - WR - Texas A&M

I would rather stay at 14 and take the cornerback

I don't know a lot, but Ward will never get to 14. Unless he decides to rape someone or is involved in a felony in the week before the draft, he will go somewhere between 4-9. He is said to be the number one player on the 49ers big board.

I was down on Ward just based on size, but he's only 1/8" below 5'11", however he also looks very small on tape. The talent is undeniably there, so I'll probably re-consider his placement.

Trading up is expensive.  Get the logic behind it.  Think it is best to just let the draft fall to you.  There is a lot of CB depth in this draft don't think we need to trade up to get help there.  If no elite prospects fall in our lap then a trade back might make sense.   We have a lot of holes would rather trade back in the 1st round and try to trade up a couple of times in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to get a few targeted players.  Again it is all dependent on how the draft falls.

Not a fan of trading up either, not worth what would be needed to move.

Overall your mock looks as reasonable as any other I have seen. Nothing outrageous.
