Gruden Breaks the Bank
« on: January 05, 2018, 12:25:01 PM »
Gruden will sign a ten year deal worth a hundred million.

Plus he gets to bring in certain people to the front office underneath McKenzie.

IMO, this is so inflated that its almost satirical.  Take a look at Gruden's overall W-L record.  It is slightly better than Jeff Fisher's.  His post season record is 5-4.

But because the Raiders underperformed in regards to high expectations, Gruden gets a deal that is simply nuts.  I mean it goes even past BB.  For a guy who has not coached in ten years.

In the last years of his life, Al Davis, who had been one of the shrewdest, most savvy owners ever, made some very questionable moves. Apparently his son thinks questionable moves are the way to run a team. This article sums up all the reasons this deal is so bad. Add in that Derek Carr and Gruden might not get along, and this could well be the second coming of the Matt Millen era in Detroit.

Oh well, in a few years, they can just hire another Packers executive to rebuild the franchise, like McKenzie did.l
