Title: Mike Gillislee
Post by: MTPackerFan on March 14, 2017, 12:45:28 PM
Mike Gillislee is tendered as a 5th rounder. Averaged 5.7 ypc the past two years behind a horrid Bills OL. 26 years old.

I understand that this is unlikely because TT covets draft picks like Rex Ryan covets feet, but would you sign him for a 5th rounder? Not sure what the contract would likely come out to, but I imagine $3-4M/yr. I think I would do it. I'm not sure what RB we could get in the 3-7th round that would perform better than Gillislee, but I'm open to ideas.

Ha! I have to say, that one wins the "break out laughing" comment of the day :)

This is a strong RB draft, don't see this happening.

It's a pretty good draft, but low on RB's that TT typically drafts.

The only ones with numbers that fit TT's threshold are McCaffery and Mixon.

Maybe TT will change, or draft a player with good value that has dropped (like Lacy), but given his history, seems unlikely.

Check out Justis Mosqueda. He's doing a bunch of stuff on players that TT typically drafts. Good info for sure.

I'd bet that if Eddie Lacy and Christian McCaffrey were in the same room each would feel like they were looking in the mirror.

Cool article about Green Bay RBs. I wonder if Mixon is there at 3 would TT take him?

Cool article about Green Bay RBs. I wonder if Mixon is there at 3 would TT take him?

"Mixon, 20, is regarded by some scouts as a top-15 or top-20 talent. The gruesome video of him breaking a woman’s jaw and cheekbone with a punch 2½ years ago has already taken him off some draft boards and left him in limbo on others. But plenty of people want to know more before making decisions, and there’s a growing feeling within the league Mixon won’t fall further than the third round."
