Laron Landry

Laron Landry is available as a free agent. I would love to see us pick him up. He is the  big hitter we lack in the secondary . He makes receivers think twice about going over the middle of the field.

Veteran safety with some serious skills...

All for it...and why TT is at it pick up Chris Ivory RB.

Those 2 moves would go a long way.  Allow TT to shore up DL, OL, WR, ILB positions.

Landry has a bit of Bob Sanders in him -- hits with such ferocity he often gets injured. I'd love to see it but have no hope of it actually occurring.

Is he not known for a hitter but can't cover worth a damm?

I'd like to take a flyer on Landry.  Pair him with Burnett, let them go, see what happens.

Landry was a high draft pick who will be on his third team in like 6 years.  Not good.
He can hit, that is for sure.  But he doesn't cover very well at all.  And he misses his fair share of tackles.  I think if TT wanted him, he would have signed him last year.
...and just goggle a picture of the guy, he is a PED suspension waiting to happen.  This guy's muscles have muscles!

So he can hit but not cover. We had that player his name was Atari Bigby.

Similar injury history as well.

Well we currently have 1 guy who sort of hits but does not cover (McMillian) and one guy who sort of covers but never hits (Jennings) at present so I guess we have the spot across from Burnett pretty well covered.

I thought that McMillan did a pretty decent job of covering.  They used him as a man corner a few times and he more than held his own.  Loose hips, reminded me a little of Mike McKenzie.  And he was certainly not afraid to hit someone.  I really like his potential.

I like McMillian as well. Think he has some serious potential to break out next year. Wasn't happy with the pick at the time, but he grew on me.

I don't like Landry simply because of his age and injury history. Go with a younger player to compete with the youngsters already on the roster. If Woodson comes back, I think his role will shift strongly toward full-time safety. If they can reduce his cap hit, I'd rather keep C-Wood than invest in a different old safety. Jmo.
