Pick #133, J'Mon Moore, WR, Missouri
« on: April 28, 2018, 11:08:43 AM »

Three-year starter who led Missouri in receptions and receiving yards in each of those three seasons. Earned Second Team All-SEC honors and caught 65 passes for 1,082 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2017 to earn an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Led the team with eight receiving TDs and made 62 receptions for 1,012 yards as a junior. Posted 29 catches for 350 yards and three scores in 2015.

Explosive receiver who shows the ability to take over games. Quick, explosive and plays faster than his 40 time. Shows burst that he turns on in a single step, makes difficult over-the-shoulder receptions and uses his size to beat down opponents and come away with the ball. Comes back to the ball to make himself an available target, extends his hands and nicely adjusts to errant throws. Displays soft hands and snatches the ball from the air. Quickly turns upfield after the catch and shows a lot of skill when the ball is in his hands.

Timed poorly in the 40 at the combine. Occasionally does some unnecessary body catching that results in dropped passes. Must improve his overall route running.

Moore is an explosive athlete who flashes big-time potential but at the same time needs to improve his overall game. He’s a solid mid-round choice with high upside and could begin his career as the third a fourth man on the depth chart and eventually grow into a starter.

Projected Round 5

Tony Pauline - DraftAnaylist.com

Draft Prospect Outlook:

Tall, well-built deep threat with good burst and plus long speed to take the top off a deep coverages. Impressive tracking skills down the field. Linear wideout.

College Recap:

A 247 composite three-star recruit out of Missouri City, Texas, Moore redshirted in 2013 and saw limited action as a freshman. He led Missouri as a redshirt sophomore in catches (29) and yards (350) while scoring three times. Moore exploded in 2016, racking up 1,012 yards on 62 catches with nine total touchdowns.

Moore showed his 2016 season wasn't a fluke in his senior year, as he posted career highs with 65 receptions, 1,082 yards and 10 touchdowns. He opened the year by catching four passes for 187 yards and two TDs against Missouri State, and he racked up at least 160 yards in two other games. Moore wrapped up his college career by catching five passes for 65 yards against Texas in the Texas Bowl.

CBS Sports - R.J. White

J'Mon Moore is a better version of Jaleel Scott, who went one selection earlier than this. Moore is highly athletic with upside, but he drops too many passes. Still, he could be developed into a solid starter.

Grade B+

Watching his juke moves coming off the LOS reminds me a lot of Davante Adams, and he's very close to same size as DA.

If he develops, that would be a nice pair of boundary WR's. I think his game speed is better than his timed speed. Just watch his film.

Found some highlights....yes he kind of looks like DA, but for me he looks like Greg Jennings.

. Shows burst that he turns on in a single step,

Very few can pull this off the way Greg Jennings and Isaac Bruce could.  Not sure how those guys didnt break their ankles with some of their cuts, but they were the masters.   Perhaps Moore is the next one?

I noticed that J'Mon showed some excellent "Sudden-ness" in his routes. I can't wait to see what he does in the next few years!
