Packers types
« on: April 26, 2019, 11:18:02 AM »
Well to the delight of fans Gutes is not TT, he is Spicy TT. Willing to trade picks to move up, roll the dice on future picks, draft players that are not a 100% match on measurables if he views them as elite, draft players with some medical gray area and spend big on some FA contracts. All fun stuff for fans who were starved for action.

But all the measurables and testing numbers for each position group do seem to be the same as in the past. Last year Gute varied with Alexander who was a 1/2" to short, but weighed 196lbs and ran 4.38/40, 3.98 SS, 6.71 3-cone, 131.7 pSPARQ. He was elite in everyway except a 1/2" short. The only real outlier from last year was Cole Madison with both his short shuttle and 3-cone times coming in slightly over historic numbers for the position, but that was a 3rd day pick and if TT ever varied from his guidelines it would be on a late round pick.

The Packers 1st round picks seem to match the historical physical and testing profiles that have been in place probably dating back to Ron Wolf, with adjustments being made over time to always continue to improve the process of course. Players that meet guidelines and score very high on the RAS and/or SPARQ testing.

With this information it can help us narrow down the field of who are likely prospects to be drafted the next 2 days and possible UDFA to be signed after the draft. This is a list of players that may well be on the Packers draft board for the 2nd and 3rd rounds based on historic measurables.

How about Risner, Little, Taylor or Scharping at #44. At #75, Sternberger. Time to add some bodies to the offense. Though Williams at #44 would also be more than acceptable.

Risner, Little and Jenkins are all likely chances as OL at 44. Would love to see Sternberger get to 75, but have a feeling he go's before that. 44 feels to early for him and 75 to late. Maybe Sternberger happens with a trade back in the 2nd. Wild guess.
