So, can we now give Gutekunst the benefit of the doubt? Not just you, Donzo, but most of us who tend to overreact if the draft doesn't go the way we expected. I'm as guilty as anyone, so no fingerpointing.

Yep, it is what it is.

This is exactly why I quit following the draft until draft week... I do some projections and I'm never even close... I think next year I wont pay attention until draft day.

The #1 interior OL by PFF... Interesting!

OK, after some quick research, it's a good pick.
They list him at center, and said he looked much more comfortable senior bowl center than guard.  Didn't Lofton announce him as a guard, though?

I trust the Packers scouting, and assume they are wise.  I think the fact they took an inside guy is pretty interesting.

I wonder if entering today, they saw a big group of good OL?  But then with four gone before their pick, their pool of OL was running out fast?

I didn't hear Lofton, but he's played everywhere.

He fits the new blocking scheme; no more plodders.

Wow, Packers draft an offensive player on Day 2!  What is happening?  :)

Nice call, RT,k really interesting that you'd mentioned him and Pauline knew they had a high grade on him.

He's an old guy, right?  A 5th year fossil?

Yes, 5th year guy is not the norm for the Packers in the first 3 rounds.

OK, break time... Gonna gets some nachos.

I want a skill position (RB, TE or WR) player in the 3rd and I'll be happy.

Jenkins is currently 23; he'll turn 24 in December. So, about one or two years older than most draftees. But the guy sounds legit, getting better year to year. Hopefully this continues.

Hopefully this is the run on WR's and it pushes the TE's down and the Packers land their guy.

Yeah, turning 24 during the season is pretty old.  O well.  Received a lot of academic recognitions, so that's good.  Played only a handful of games at guard years ago, has been all center the last two years.  So, kind of resolves the question of who backs up Linsley in the event of injury.

Through pick 2-26, two TE's gone this round.  How many more before our next pick I wonder?

Other than Sternberger I don't personally like any of the TE's before the 4th rnd

Personally, looking at the board now I'm hoping for either RB Montgomery or going another defensive player -- Layne, Long, Thornhill, CGJ, Zach Allen, Nelson or Wren.  I'd even justify another Edge in Polite or Winovich

Sternberger may be the Patriots pick at 64. I'm guessing the Packers would be happy with Warring or Knox at 75, but not sure if any of them get to 75.

I totally had OL on my wish list, so excited to get Jenkins.

Admit surprised at a center-first guy.  I had anticipate doing what TT always did, and going after a college OT.  (Yes, I know, Gute isn't TT.)  I figured an OT made best sense because Bulaga is expiring, and usually a really good college OT can transition to guard if needed.  So a good OT/OG selection would really provide a lot of injury insurance for this year, and could fit into a lot of starting spots next year depending on who they might want to replace.

O well, hopefully Bulaga and Bakhti will never get injured again and will be terrific starting tackles for years to come.

Turner very well may be the RT after the Bulaga contract expires.
