Round 6 #185 - Ka'Dar Hollman CB
« on: April 27, 2019, 01:07:18 PM »

Ka'dar Hollman
Cornerback
SCHOOL: TOLEDO | CONFERENCE: MAC
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-0.2 / 195 | 40: 4.41 | DRAFT YR:2019
PROJECTED ROUND
FA

Pos:
Athletic cornerback prospect with terrific next-level measurables. Stays with assignments, mixes it up with opponents and has an aggressive style. Keeps the action in front of him, plays heads-up football and competes to defend the throw. Gets his head back around to locate the pass. Quick up the field to defend running plays and screen passes. Effectively makes the calls in the secondary.

Neg:
Not always on balance. Not a surehanded tackler. Late to transition off the line when he follows opponents downfield.

Analysis:
Hollman possesses terrific measurables and has shown good development the past two seasons, which could help him find a place on a practice squad this summer.

Hollman ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds and hit 39″ on the vertical leap at Toledo’s pro day. His speed and explosive jumping ability have put him on the radar for NFL teams that are always looking for more of both at the position.

From Pauline’s draft report: “Hollman possesses terrific measurables and has shown good development the past two seasons, which could help him find a place on a practice squad this summer.”

This kid has nice measurables, but he's got a long way to go to make this team.

I watched tape of 3 games of his. Was not impressed. Played a lot of soft off-man and did a lot of turn/bail.

He tended to shy away from contact, especially in run support, which does not bode well for a late round draft pick who will need to cut his teeth as a core member of special teams for starters.

He's a big question mark, imo.

What I saw out all that is that played away from him all game which is a good thing. The other thing I saw was complacency and a serious lack of pursuit and shying away from contact.  Might be the next Dion Sanders.

It looks like we have identified the player that fans are going to build up to a level that is just unfair to him. The kid run really fast in a straight line and got himself drafted and good for him, but he had one INT in his career at Toledo and people are going to suggest he 'might be the next Dion Sanders'. May want to pump the brakes a little and see if he can even make the 53, that alone will be a huge challenge for him.
