Walter's New Mock 2014
« on: November 26, 2013, 07:15:26 PM »
It's 11/26/2013 so this must be the advanced version since it's dated the 27th. LOL

Love that all these draft sites have us going TE in round one. Almost a certainty we go in another direction now.

At this point I want a safety, d-line, or linebacker who can actually pass rush.  I think Bostic has a future, when he has the ball he runs similar to how Finley did.

Must disagree with this statement. He is much MORE fluid running with the ball than Finley ever did. He's got a chance to be top flight at TE.

God I hope they're drafting higher than 17 because the talent drop off is absolutely stupid from the top 5 to the top 10.

I'd say if Rodgers comes back we're 14-16 if he doesn't were top 10. We won't be high enough to grab either Clowney or Barr. The two defenders worthy of top 10 IMO.

If we are in that 14-16 zone for a 1st round pick I would go with any of these 4 players:

Stephon Tuitt; DE; Notre Dame

Ra'Shede Hageman; DE; Minnesota

Trent Murphy; OLB; Stanford

Khalil Mack; OLB; Buffalo

I think they should extend Johnny Jolly and use him and Josh Boyd as the NT's.
“We’ll see whether we can get some nose reps out of him,” Trgovac said. “Particularly in this defense"

That would give them Jones, Daniels, Worthy, and Tuitt/Hageman as the DE's.
Also, if Ben Gardner (DE; Stanford) is still on the board in the 4th round, I'd add him as well. He has missed most of this season with a pectoral tear so his stock might drop him. If he had stayed healthy he would have been a 1-2 round pick for sure.

As for TE. I'm still staking my claim to CJ Feidorowicz in the 3rd round.

I didn't want to be too optimistic...... thumbsup)

I'm west of the St. Croix and one of those hybrid Packer/Gopher fans (I'm old.  They are the first teams I cheered for.) and Hageman scares the crap out of me.  He's done a nice job this year and although he's an absolute physical monster, he comes up short on technique at this point.  I wouldn't say he's boom-or-bust, but he could easily be overdrafted.  If we're drafting in the first half of the first round, I'd like someone with a little more certainty.
