CBS had a good article spotlighting 128 prospects that might go late/undrafted.  Amichia was one.  After reading through that he was one of the OL that caught my eye and starting digging on.  Like that pick and I like Andrew Eide too - hoping he's a 7th or HPFA option

Take 2 more offensive lineman?

Another running back?    Maybe Corey Clement?

Third RB. Devante Mays of Utah State. Sound like he's a bruiser.

So apparently "other avenues" means taking 3 RBs on Day 3...

No major complaints about this draft, but really surprised they didn't take a single OL, thus far.  They must really like Jahri Evans...

Amichia played alot of Left Tackle for USF, so he may have sufficient pass-blocking skills which the Packers require of their OG's, and given the quicks (4.98/40) and strength (32 reps) he has, might be adequate for zone-blocking.  We'll see if he sticks. At very least he'll help bring competition for RG in training camp.

We've not been a pure zone blocking team for about 5-6 years.

Ok, then how would you describe their scheme? Would you describe it as "pure man"? If not, then what?

They use straight-up man and traps quite often.  Mix in some inside zone runs.  Also pull guards... They've done everything under the sun.
I'm right and everyone else does not have an opinion worth talking about.

I hope an offensive lineman is our Mr. Irrelevant.... and turns out to be a Pro Bowler!

Mays caught only one pass in each of his last two years!

Lists 5'11" 230.  Eddy Lacy listed at 5'11" 231.

5'10", 230. He could be the pounder that would make the others "change of pace backs". The number of RB's chosen certainly is interesting, and unexpected. This could definitely put Michael on the bubble, as someone noted elsewhere. Also, a lot of competition. It seems the only lock for the RB is Montgomery, otherwise wide open. Ripkowski at a FB should be safe also. Especially since he showed an unexpected running ability.

Personally, I like the draft so far. The team seems to be looking to get tougher and faster on defense. Jones in particular could become a player in the mold of Woodson, Collins or Butler, eventually. Expectations too high? We'll see. It's the draft and the off season- time to hope and be optimistic, IMO. We can save the doom and gloom for another day.

I'd be happy if he was as good as Driver or Flynn at his position. Also, keep in mind there are still the UDFA's that will be signed in the next few days. Usually a couple of them make the team.
