Didn't want to start a separate thread for this, but did find it interesting.

Some of the trades up by teams to grab a player right infront of another team that is known to have interest in that player. Did anyone else think that the 49ers trading up to pick 44, right infront of the Packers to take WR Donte Pettis, was possibly taking the guy the Packers were about to take? The Packers brought Pettis in late for a medical re-check and he was rumored that the Packers were very interested in him.

Second example, Raiders traded up to pick 87 to take Arden Key infront of Carolina. After that pick Carolina fire-sales pick 88 to the Packers, who take Burks. The obvious question is did the Rams at 89 have interest in Burks? Well, sure enough Vincent Bonsignore in his pre-draft on the Rams noted that Burks was a player the Rams viewed as a possible replacement for Ogletree as a speed/cover guy.

Doubt if every such trade is someone stealing another teams pick, but the NFL teams intel is pretty strong and secrets are hard to keep.

Which underscores that what we fans know/understand about players/teams in the draft amounts to one hair on your head compared to teams having a full head of hair.  ;D
