This is an accusation that needs to be addressed with this team. When things take an unexpectdly bad turn, such as AR getting hurt last year, it seems the team loses heart, and a fair amount of players just go through the motions. Not all, but enough starters to be noticeable. Now, Pettine is calling out the defense about the letdown after the Matthews roughing the passer fiasco. About time. Stuff happens. Pull up your big boy pants and deal with it.

It's easier to handle your squads attitude from the sideline and motivate players up close and personal instead of at practice during the week and hope it sticks during game time.

Kevin is 23, 6-2, 179. The hope would be he grows into his body and bulks up 10-15 pounds, then is a bit more durable.

You may want to fact check the 6-2 and 179.

google "kevin king" before you call me out.

Personally I'm indifferent to his weight, but he hasn't been 6-2 and 179 since his freshman year in college.

It's easier to handle your squads attitude from the sideline and motivate players up close and personal instead of at practice during the week and hope it sticks during game time.

But, is it easier to evaluate the entire defense from a birdseye view, or from the sidelines? The players should be self-motivated by pride and fear of losing their position to someone else. Sooner or later, you have to be responsible for your own mental/physical conditioning. This excludes flukes, like injuries or simply being less naturally gifted than another player. But even in that case, you give it your all.

Just saw this at PFT. It goes a long way in explaining why the league "doubled down" on the wrong calls in the Vikes game. The refs overreacted, and should be told in private that they should keep the flags in their pocket unless the hit is obviously a foul (the allegorical "fifty guys on barstools" who all agree that was an illegal hit). But unless they're going to actually explain how those sacks were penalized, let the guys play.

Kevin King is listed as 6'3" and 200lb, on Packers.com site and on NFL/Combine/Profiles/Kevin King. Where did you get your figures ?

Random thoughts:

-Tim Boyle inactive this week. They must feel Rodgers is solid...or they needed to create spots for O. Burks and A. Jones.
-Still no Josh Jones. He might have been helpful in covering Jordan Reed.
-I wonder if Burks will get any snaps from scrimmage.
-Will Jones provide a spark to the run game?

-GO PACKERS!

Defense still cant cover anyone that's a TE or RB and cant get to the qb. Give up 75 yards in a minute or so. Pathetic.

So on 2nd and 17 we run a quick pass. But on first down we keep trying for big chunks. Someone take the play card from McCarthy. This game is ugly and it's only been 4 minutes.

Maybe we should have given AP a look during the offseason.
