A new HC should be the one choosing his coaching staff...NOT Murphy!!

Did Murphy comment on any other assistant during the press conference? If not then this is a clickbait article that’s just throwing stuff out there

So, Murphy is asked about Pettine and replies, in effect, "We'll see.." What is he supposed to say? That Pettine is guaranteed a job, and the new HC has no say about his DC? Indeed, once the new HC is hired, Pettine will be considered. Or not. As the new HC will choose his staff.

Agree, Its workable though.  Murphy can suggest Pettine to the new coach, the new coach may have his own guy.
