Landon Collins is good in the box; but not good in coverage.  He would not solve GB's problem.  Thomas has been hurt and would be too expensive.  Weddle is too old.  The best of the rest are Joyner (my choice; but expensive), Tre Boston or Tyron Mathieu.

Landon Collins is a name that people have heard of so surely he must a big improvement for the Packers, right? There are no shortage of Packers fans wanting to throw money at him like drunken sailors on shore leave. But Collins is a box safety who is very average at best in space and not the missing piece for Pettine's defense. The skillset they need and are probably looking for is a centerfielder type, QB on the backend of their defense, not someone who struggles in coverage. IMO

Boston played well against us and had a good year. Roby has elite speed and corner skills, things Nick Collins had that made him a great safety, should be a great center fielder. Many athletic safeties in the draft, a couple early rounders and some mid-late round gem types.

This is becoming more and more of a buyers market (teams) than a sellers market (players).

Denver is set to release (S) Darian Stewart, and he will join Quin, Weddle, and Coleman as quality SFA's that will be added to the inventory of the UFA's, and then factor in that there is a very good group of Safety's in the draft............................

Supply & Demand is in play, and when the Supply increases beyond Demand it puts downward pressure on the price.

Signing a good free agent Safety is getting cheaper by the day.
