I figured this would happen when we signed two expensive LB's.  And Perry is too expensive to cut.  So CM 3 had to go.

He should fit in well with the Rams and Phillips.

With Clay, Jordy and Cobb all gone now, it's certainly feels like the end of an era.

The era ended a few years ago.  The team could not progress with the times.  Our drafts were not great, free agency didn't produce after Woodson, our playoff loses didn't invoke an evaluation as to why they happened.  Our defense never produced in the clutch...our screw ups on third and long were constant.  After the Super Bowl victory, we lost the killer instinct for a number of reasons.  This is now a new era and a new approach. In the meantime, our division got stronger.  Yes, even Detroit, don't forget the last game of the season.  I don't know how long it will take to get back; but with Rogers the window is closing.  I have been a fan since 1959 and I seen the glory years, the horror of the 70s and 80s and the fun of being a Packer fan since Holmgren, Favre et. al through 90s and into the teens. Best of luck, Jordy, Clay and Randall.  Thanks for the great games and extending our winning seasons.   Now lets hope a another era of winning is beginning.

We ate Perry's contract?

That was a lot of money.

Guess we had to.

No, the Packers cut Perry before they paid him his roster bonus.

The packers didn't pay him a dime this off season.

I was hoping Clay would come back on a one year team friendly deal, but he got paid by the Rams.

I'll miss him, he was one of my guys.

According to Spotrac we took an 11 million dead money CAP hit for Perry.

Are Crawford and Martinez going to be our ILB's?  Or will Burks start?

Ryan is with the Jags now.

The 2015 draft did not turn out well.  https://247sports.com/nfl/green-bay-packers/Article/Packers-draft-class-2015-gone--130236634/#M130298123

IMO, we should have not traded Randall.

If the Packers had kept Perry this year, his cap cost would have been over $14M, so they saved $3.3M by letting him go.

Martinez, Crawford, and Burks are the only ILB.

Would not surprise me to see Josh Jones get more work in there this year, but expect a draft pick to address ILB.

Besides, FA isn't over yet, just the initial rush. And the Packers were definitely part of that frenzy. They still have some cap room, so a second tier ILB is not out of the question. Here are some possibilities from Walter Football:

Mychal Kendricks would have a better rating, as he's a talented linebacker, but he might be going to prison for insider trading.
