Deepest condolences to Gregg's surviving family. A great Packers player, called "The best player I ever coached" by Vince Lombardi. His tenure as a Packers head coach was another matter.

Is there a more iconic photograph of the NFL than the 1960 shot of Gregg, covered in mud, cheering on his teammates? Kramer referred to it as 'cast in iron.' Just another reason for us, as Packer fans, to cherish our rich history and the legacies of those who built it, yard by yard.

We are the luckiest fans on earth.

Thank you for your service, #75.

You could make a case for #75 being up there with the rest of the numbers.  Clearly he was one of the most decorated players in Packer history.

I agree GM, a very easy one:

3× Super Bowl champion (I, II, VI)
5× NFL champion (1961, 1962, 1965–1967)
9× Pro Bowl (1959–1964, 1966–1968)
7× First-team All-Pro (1960, 1962–1967)
2× Second-team All-Pro (1959, 1961)
NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team
NFL 1960s All-Decade Team
NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame
Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame
Games played:   193
The Green Bay Packers never lost a football game.
They just ran out of time.

Making first team All Pro seven times is really something.

How about All Pro at 2 positions in 1 year...?

In 65' when injuries hit the Packers’ offensive line hard, Gregg willingly switched to guard to fill the void. In 1965, one major wire service named him an All-NFL at guard, the other picked him as its all-league tackle.

Pretty cool little trivia fact - thanks #66

 hatsoff)
Not many people remember that one.  UPI and AP named him at different positions.  Freaking insane.
