CBS's View of Packers Needs

GB Team needs

The CBS Sports NFL writing staff recently compiled positional rankings to identify needs for each team heading into the draft. A helpful guide: any position group that had an average ranking worse than 16.0 (on a scale of 1 to 32) was considered a "need," while any that ranked worse than 23.0 (bottom-third of the league) was considered a "pressing need."

QB    RB     WR/TE   OL     EDGE   INT DL   LB   DB
6.4   19.8    11.2   7.6      10.6      6.2      22.5   14.5

I understand the 22.5 at LB, we have no talent there. (we need a MLB and outside MLB who attack and spend their time in the backfield, haven't had this in ten years   I don't understand the high rating of 7.6 on the OL.  We're ok there and I think we need to add another starter and some depth here.  RB is pretty high and I could see adding another.  We have enough DB'S for three teams!  Need to stay healthy!  I wouldn't mind seeing one or two more edge rushers.  We can trade them out and keep them fresh, two are good, four would be elite!!!  Not saying their staff is accurate, but it is nice to see outsiders view of our strengths and weaknesses.

They think we are moving up in the draft since we sat down with Williams from Alabama twice.  Lot of noise about WR, ain't gonna happen folks!  At least not til rd 3 or they trade back.

To help keep as accurate of a list as possible of players the Packers have meet with, could you help me out with a link to the Packers sit downs with Williams. I'm just not coming up with anything, I'm sure I'm just not looking in the right places. Thanks in advance.

Draft visits don't necessarily equate to heavy interest, but the #Packers are having OL Jonah Williams of Alabama and Andre Dillard of Washington St. in for top 30 visits. Two of the highest-rated OL in this year's draft. They are among just a few of the OL who interest GB.

Sorry Joe, but that was updated after Tom Silverstein tweeted about the upcoming visit. Their will be thousands of links now dated from the 15th and after. Do you have anything predating the tweet by Silverstein on April 15th? But it doesn't really matter now that Silverstein confirmed an upcoming visit.

I would say that Green Bay met with every decent OT that could go in the top 3 rounds, that being the case...look for OT early, maybe at 12.
In the land of the blind.....the one eye man is king!
