They would not have drafted him at 12 if they didn't think very highly of him - so he does get the benefit of the doubt

With Garys shoulder issue, do they dare go after Simmons if he is there at 30?  that's a lot of injury concerns in their top picks?

To be fair - he was injured at 20.     He was also First Team All Big 10 as a Soph and Junior as voted by Coaches

Anyone care to discuss to possible next Packers pick? Is a trade up in the cards here?

What I'm hopeful for...and highly doubtful will occur...is that GB fans give Gary a chance to develop over the next few seasons without riding every move he makes.    Take a few years before booing every missed play or trashing him as a draft bust after preseason game 1.    Certainly wasn't high on my wishlist but he's a Packer now and not his fault he was the pick - lot of fans seem to hold a grudge against players they didn't want and create a merciless environment for them

That's going to be a tall order since he is our highest pick since Raji, and it's a very big reach. Maybe he proves everyone wrong and shows right away, but a #12 is supposed to produce right away.

Welcome Rashan Gary to the Green Bay Packers. Looked at the numbers and background on Gary. Here's my take. He made 44 tackles, seven for loss and 3.5 sack in nine games. When compared to other DL that played a whole season was , the numbers are VERY comparable in production...except maybe those that had already been taken. And, he was injured last year. That may be the only question on the pick. However, I'm sure the Packers did their homework on him. In addition, even before combine and pro day, in the top 10-20 prospects on most everyone's listing.

His emotions should tell us how much this means to him. I do like kids from Michigan, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, etc. Know what its like to play in northern climate. I'm going with the glass more than half full on this folks. We'll see.

I'm of the opinion that the GB Packers will still be around in the seasons following 2019.   Our season performance is NOT contingent on a 1st rounder -- #12 or otherwise.

Allow the man to develop as I assume the Packers will still have a team in 2020 and beyond

- or hold it against Gary that the Pack brass valued him highly...whatever....

I hope no trade up. Don’t want to lose any of the picks in rounds 2-4. Not sure who they would really be targeting at this point that would be worth a trade up.

Not sure how you come to the conclusion that the pick is a very big reach. He has been in the top 10 of the majority of the national mocks all mock season.

Why has Sweat dropped so far.

I thought the medical report on him was wrong.

I sure hope the Vikes do not get him.  That would be murder.
