Muhammed Wilkerson
« on: June 01, 2019, 03:49:45 PM »
Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Muhammed Wilkerson was arrested last night for a DUI. I have no idea if the Packers were going to bring him back or not , but I wouldn't think this would help his chances!

I don't think he fits on this year's squad.
But he blew a .09, .01 over I'm  guessing at worst a single game  suspension
The Green Bay Packers never lost a football game.
They just ran out of time.

IF the Packers decided they needed him on the team, he wouldn't be too expensive. After all, his first contract with the Packers was heavily incentive laden. A similar contract would be likely. With even less money up front. There doesn't seem to be any market for him. But as an injury replacement? Sure. Anyway, here is a breakdown of his contract when he signed with the Packers last season:

On Monday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the one-year contract is worth $4.7 million with a $1.5 million signing bonus to go with a $1 million reporting bonus. Wilkerson's deal also contains $2.75 million in incentives, per Silverstein.

This would be less for an in-season addition.

When I see this I think, who are you kicking off the 53 man roster to add Wilkerson. He is a player who has not played well since 2015 and is coming off a broken leg. Add that the Bleacher Report has the Packers projected with the #1 DL in the NFL for 2019. Outside of an injury to a DL currently under contract, signing Wilkerson doesn't make much sense. IMO.

Agree RT, positions particularly in the DLine will be hard to win this year.
