2019 Preseason Game 2 vs Balt

Rodgers out tonight due to "Back Tightness".    Looks like more snaps for the backup QBs.

Not much to like in this one. Shepard and Lazard are decent suprises.
Rashard Gary was invisible.

What was the score?

Any Packer highlights?

I didn't see the full game , only parts and was mainly looking at Kizer and Boyle. If Gutsey can find a seasoned QB that is cut, then that will be the Packer's back-up QB. If not, and this is the more likely scenario, they will keep Boyle and try to trade Kizer for a vending machine. To me, a rank amateur, neither QB will get you a few wins. Boyle looks much more promising in his pocket awareness and has a good arm. Maybe the most important issue is he will also be cheaper.
I guess the next two pre-season games will determine if Boyle sees any action with the starting receivers and has leapfrogged Kizer.

Was it just me or did the times the camera was on LaFleur he seemed to be a man alone on an island?
I saw the ST coach start to go over to him but hesitated and turned away.

Though I would see a bit of the fire like the Rams coach displays.

Get used to it.  Gary's story out of Michigan was a lot of hype and little production.

May need to be a bit of a masochist as a Packers fan to want to watch that game again. I think I will spend Saturday morning sticking needles in my eyes instead, I believe that would be more enjoyable then knowingly watching that game a second time.

This was more for those of us who didn't get to see the game. I was hoping to see the first string play about a quarter, but with Rodgers on the sidelines, you can expect second rate results even with the rest of the team available.

For a short taste of what the game was like, here is a clip of the "highlights" of the game. A little over seven minutes long. Too long, IMO.

A video of the missed tackles would take 8 minutes.

Thought Kumerow looked okay.  Routes and separation looked good.Yes, I did notice the dropped pass.

I hope they clean things up and are ready for Chicago. Only 2 games left.  Lots of players to evaluate, but that opener is huge.  Gotta be ready out of the gate.

You're not the only one who noticed the poor tackling on the defense:

Then again, the rules prohibit contact, and tackling a "dummy" that doesn't move, isn't trying to break away from you when hit, isn't trying to push you away with a stiff arm, and isn't moving at you at a high speed is not the same. Still, there must be SOMETHING that can be done. Like teaching the fundamentals of tackling, such as wrapping up, and making sure you get the guy on the ground, rather than go for that highlight reel "big hit" that too often becomes a whiff and more yards for the opponent.
