1) Did Pettine not use him in a way that fit with what he can still do compared to how the LAR's have been using him, or

2) Had he just quit on GB and was going through the motions.

It seems there is still gas in his tank, although he's like an Alfa Romeo (zippy fast sports car that has a history of breaking down and spending a lot of time in shop for repairs).

He is having a good year. 

Actually he was having a good year before his injury.

But his replacements are doing OK also.

I suspect #1, he doesn’t seem like a guy who would quit.
