first pick draft game
« on: April 03, 2020, 08:24:15 AM »
Like everyone else bored and doing mock drafts.  As stated by a number of people before believe the best is to drop down and pick up other picks.  This is what I did with this and fills in our needs. Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 9 (CLE): Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 10 (CLE): Lucas Niang, OT, TCU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 12 (T.B.): Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri (A+)
Round 3 Pick 13 (DEN): Jeremy Chinn, FS/SS, S. Illinois (A)
Round 3 Pick 27 (L.V.): Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame (A+)
Round 3 Pick 32 (K.C.): Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton (A+)
Round 4 Pick 30: Ben Bartch, OT, St. John's (MN) (A+)
Round 4 Pick 32 (K.C.): Leki Fotu, DT, Utah (A+)
Round 4 Pick 33 (T.B.): James Lynch, DT/DE, Baylor (A+)
Round 4 Pick 36 (WASH): Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia (A+)
Round 5 Pick 16 (WASH): Michael Divinity Jr., ILB/OLB, LSU (A+)
Round 5 Pick 29: Jacob Phillips, ILB/OLB, LSU (A+)
Round 6 Pick 13: Lavert Hill, CB, Michigan (A+)
Round 6 Pick 29: Quintez Cephus, WR, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 6 Pick 33 (N.E.): Benito Jones, DT, Ole Miss (A+)
Round 6 Pick 34 (N.E.): Colton McKivitz, OT, West Virginia (A+)
Round 7 Pick 22: Justin Strnad, OLB, Wake Forest (A+)
Round 7 Pick 28: Patrick Taylor Jr., RB, Memphis (A+)
Would have liked to get top OT or LB but not available so did it with numbers.

Absolutely not. We already have ten picks. How many of those guys would have a shot at the actual roster? We dont need a ton of "value" picks to compete for a job and then choose one. We need good talented guys who can come in and make a difference. I'd take a draft of 6 players who solid than 20 who are "value" aka bargain bin guys who may fill a JAG role.

Agree, we need quality players.  Gute's drafts so far have been loaded with JAGs and underwhelming players.  They arent all bad picks (some good ones too), but in hindsight certainly raise some eyebrows.

Agreed. He is balanced so far. Seems to be really good at finding FA value and skills and doing so-so drafting. Alexander was a great pick, but aside from that the jury is still out, and his Gary pick is still a head scratcher. Unless they rotate him on that DL this year, I'm not sure what the point of that pick was.
